Explore the Noosa Biosphere by paddle craft

Noosa Biosphere

Noosa was declared a UNESCO Noosa Biosphere reserve back in 2007. Biospheres are internationally protected areas that create a healthy relationship between nature and people. Noosa is only one of two in all of Queensland.

With 35% of land being protected and 44% of all Australian bird species found in Noosa it makes the perfect escape to find your own patch of paradise with a kayak or stand up paddle board hire. The area is abundant with wildlife with birds such as the White Faced Herron, Cattle Egret, Pelican and Brahminy Kite’s. In terms of marine life Mullet can be seen jumping out of the water, stingrays and Blue Solider Crabs.

Lake Weyba & Weyba Creek

Lake Weyba and Weyba Creek offer sheltered and somewhat exclusive access due to constraints from shallow water with boat hire. This typically means that boating traffic is kept to a minimum and gives a feeling of being isolated amongst nature. Stops are in abundance with plenty of sandy shores to relax, rest and swim. Cafes and fish and chip shops can also be accessed on the paddle.

Other areas of Noosa Biosphere can still be explored with Noosa boat hire such as the Noosa River Mouth or estuaries towards Lake Cooroibah.

Don’t forget to check our the what can I do and places of interest sections for a detailed break down on what can be done with boat, kayak or stand up paddle board hire.

Happy hiring!
